Play in the heart of the resort.

Australian casino hotels put a proper gaming floor beside hotel rooms and dining. Here is what that floor is like — and what to know before you walk in.

The floor

A full gaming floor, not a side room.

At Australia's big casino hotels the gaming floor is a destination in its own right: tables, machines, bars and staff who know the house rules. It sits next to the hotel towers and restaurants, so you can move between stay, dinner and play without leaving the precinct.

Expect a clearer entry line than a pub — ID checks are normal, and some rooms ask for membership or a dress standard after dark.

What you can play

Tables, machines and late hours.

Most large venues mix classic table games with a wide machine floor. Minimums, game mix and opening hours change by state and by property — Christmas Day and Anzac morning closures are common — so check the venue before you plan a night around it.

If you are new, ask the floor team. Dealers and hosts are used to walking first-timers through the basics.

Entry

Adults only — bring ID.

Casino areas are for people aged 18 or over. Photo ID can be requested at the door. Some Sydney and other premium rooms run membership entry; joining is usually free but still requires approval under local rules.

Dress codes vary. Smart casual is a safe default for the main floor; restaurants and private rooms may ask for more.
